Vesta: the Name
Vesta was the Roman goddess of the home and hearth. She was revered in Roman households as the protector of the family and the home and the city of Rome itself maintained a hearth in the circular Temple of Vesta in the Forum. Here the Vestal virgins tended an eternal fire that symbolized the well-being of the city.
We chose this name for our company because classical Roman history and culture fascinates us and draws us to Italy. Moreover, the hearth represents the charm of vacationing in an Italian villa: the special experience of staying in the comfort of your own beautiful home. Renting a villa is a type of “slow travel”. You discover the fascinating details of your surroundings as you assimilate the culture and live as the local residents do. About the Owner
Vesta Italian Villas was founded by Emanuela Villa. The company is the product her passion for Italy, her love of travel, and her substantial experience in the travel and tourism sector. Emanuela was born in Italy and grew up there, so she is intimately familiar with the local culture and customs. She is from Milan, where she studied art history and languages. She holds a master's degree from Milan's IULM University and has worked in marketing and tourism for several years both in Italy and in the US. Emanuela is also an expert cook and connoisseur of Italian specialties from truffle pâtés to olive oils and wines. She loves photography, and finds her favorite subjects in Italy.
