Il Cortiletto
(3 units sleeping 2, 6 and 10 people; shared pool)
Villa Location
Il Cortiletto is located just outside of a Tavarnella in the middle of the Chianti hills. Take the unpaved road to the entrance gate, which leads to the gravel driveway used exclusively by guests of Il Cortiletto. Three of the four units are accessed by entering a beautiful open indoor courtyard, while the Cottage has its own entrance. The property has extensive gardens with spectacular views of the vineyards and olive groves. The welcoming owners live on the property in a separate house.
Local Area
Tavarnella has Roman origins and was named after the accommodations and taverns on the way from Florence to Siena and then to Rome. Santa Lucia al Borghetto is famous for local Gothic architecture. Religious art enthusiasts will also want to visit the Chiesa di San Pietro in Bossolo (Saint Peter Church in Bossolo) and the Museo di Arte Sacra (Museum of Holy Art).
Tavernelle Summer is held annually in July and features musical and theatrical shows and markets, where you can sample fine local foods.
Owner Recommended Restaurant
Osteria La Gramola for traditional Tuscan cuisine.
