Villa Pietrosa
(sleeps 11 people + 1, pool, picture perfect views)
Villa Location
Villa Pietrosa is located on a small hill overlooking a beautiful Tuscan landscape: neatly cultivated fields, roads lined with cypress trees, and the Mugello mountains in the background. The road leading to the villa is paved and the property is totally independent and private.
Local Area
The villa is located in the Mugello, the hills and mountains northeast of Florence. From the property it is possible to walk to a tiny village, where there is a bar and a small grocery store selling local products. There is also a store that sells freshly made cheese. The closest town is Vicchio, birthplace of the artists Giotto and Fra Angelico. You can visit Giotto's house, now a small museum, and the Museo Comunale with interesting pieces from the Middle Ages to late Renaissance. Scarperia, another town in the area, is well known for the production of knives and blades of excellent quality. If you are interested in local artifacts, you should stop at the Cestenoli factory for terracotta. A small lake nearby allows sailing, fishing and other activities. The Mugello is perfect for horseback riding, hiking and biking, as well as golfing.
Owner Recommended Restaurant
Da Giotto, in Vicchio's main piazza is a family trattoria with typical Tuscan cuisine. If you want to eat al fresco, Simonetta, just outside Vicchio, has an agreeable open terrace.
