Plan your Trip!
Organization and clear ideas are keys to successful trip planning. So it is important to prepare well, especially if you are what we call the “leader of the traveling group”, that is the person responsible for coordinating everybody’s schedules, tastes and desires about the trip as well as dealing with the actual booking. It is not always an easy position to be in, especially if you are organizing a family reunion, but… it’s definitively fun and we are here to help you!
Below you will find information to help you decide whether villa rental is right for you, what to expect, how to choose your villa, how the booking process works, and some helpful planning tools. Before, after or at any stage of your planning, feel free to contact us with any questions.

Why Rent a Villa?
Villa rental is exciting: it is like owning your own home in Italy! You will live like a local and be part of a community. Renting a villa allows for “slow travel”: you will discover a multitude of interesting sights, markets, activities, places to visit, all within a small radius from where you live. Villa rental is a unique cultural and social experience and… it is absolutely addictive: once you’ve tried it, you won’t want to go back to other ways of traveling.
Renting a property is different from staying in a hotel, and it is important that you know what to expect beforehand. You will have plenty of personal space, total privacy, a fully equipped kitchen and you will experience something unique and personal. You and your friends or family can sip wine on your own terrace overlooking the countryside, and you can arrange group dinners al fresco while the children play in the garden. On the other hand there will be no front desk, no concierge and no room service. The properties are self-catered. Some include maid service, others can offer it at an extra cost, but in general you will take care of daily maintenance.

Who is villa rental for?
Renting a villa is ideal for couples, for families, for family reunions, for groups of friends, for anybody… as long as they are independent travelers.
How to Choose Your Villa
Once you know the size of your group, choosing a property is a matter of establishing and combining priorities. The location can be important for different reasons: perhaps you want to get to know a region you have never seen; or you want to return to an area you have visited before and explore it in more depth; perhaps you want to visit a specific site or attend a particular event; or you want to pursue your favorite leisure activities: hiking, or shopping, or wine tasting. The features and services of a villa are also relevant, and whether the owner lives on the premises or not. However, you might also just… fall in love with a villa!

Browsing our Villa Pages
From our homepage you can search for properties by region, clicking on the Italy map, or by group size. We list properties by the recommended number of people, but in some cases the sleeping capacity can be slightly stretched, especially if your group includes children under 10. Some properties have sofa beds, or we can make other sleeping arrangements. Feel free to inquire about it, if you have a specific need.
Each property has a Villa Home page which includes a brief description, a photo of the exterior of the property, and lists the number of bedrooms and bathrooms, features, and prices. On the left there are tabs that take you to the photo gallery and to a page with details about the vicinity. Under the Highlights tab you will find features that make the place unique and for which we selected the property over others. These include attractions like a sauna or a pool table; we also share with you our personal observations of small details we noticed during our visits to give you a sense of the subtle atmosphere of the villa. Where possible there are specific pictures, else you will find just a listing of these traits.
If you have questions about the terminology we use in our pages, you can consult our glossary.
Feel free to call us at any time at 800 786 5760 , e-mail us or contact us through our inquiry form. We will be happy to help you select your property.
